The Fertile Ground Project was established to help spread awareness of the food shortage epidemic in Mississippi, specifically in Jackson.
With this goal in mind, the main focus of this poster is to show the impact of having limited resources within the community. This poster highlights the illusion of having access to healthy and sustainable foods.
But the reality is that the community, especially the lower-income families, only has the funds and access to cheaper, greaser food sources.
I chose to use illustration with bright colors and textures in a retro-type of style to have almost an ironic face as the message of Fertile Ground is the tragedy of food shortage within a community.
